Voted Top Railway Journey in the World.We are delighted to present a three day tour to the Highlands of Scotland at this most beautiful time of year with the Autumnal colours on full display – Travel will be on board the celebrated ‘Statesman’ diesel hauled train over the world famous award winning West Highland line, featuring some of the most dramatic and spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer with magnificent waterfalls, rippling burns & peaceful lochs - A memorable return journey to Mallaig on the steam hauled ‘Jacobite’ train is included and accommodation for two nights will be at quality 3 star hotels in the Fort William area.

Saturday:
Our train travels north with views of the Lakeland Fells before continuing through the Scottish lowlands and towards Glasgow taking the route around the north of the city and along the banks of the Clyde. At Craigendoran we join the West Highland line and climb high into the mountains passing Loch Long and Loch Lomond followed by an exhilarating journey over the unspoilt expanse of Rannoch Moor with arrival in Fort William around 20.45.

Sunday:
At Fort William station step back in time as we board the vintage standard class carriages of the steam hauled ‘Jacobite’ train (with seating at shared tables) for a magnificent 84 mile round trip to Mallaig. Passing the foot of Ben Nevis and along the shoreline of Loch Eil we climb into the high mountains and at Glenfinnan cross the viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies offering magnificent views down Loch Shiel. Passing the white sands of Morar with the mystical Isle of Skye in the distance we arrive into Mallaig - numerous eateries are available offering the famous local fish n’ chips and there is plenty to see and do in the couple of hours before the return journey.

Monday:
We depart from Fort William around 09.00 for the journey up the Great Glen and Monessie Gorge. Time permitting a stop will be made at Rannoch where the views are truly spectacular and herds of wild deer roam - then homeward with one magnificent sight following another including Loch Tulla, the Horseshoe Curve and Loch Long.

Pullman Class (Glenspean Lodge Hotel):
Accommodation is at the “Glenspean Lodge Hotel” situated in a remote glen near Spean Bridge in twin or double rooms only with transfers included. A Scottish Breakfast (Sun & Mon) and champagne reception followed by a four course dinner, with wine (Sun only) are included, with other meals taken on the train and included in the meal service on board is bucks fizz with breakfast, champagne and quarter bottle of house wine served with 3 or 4 course lunches or dinners. Seating on ‘The Jacobite’ is in First Class.

Pullman Class (Alexandra Hotel):
Accommodation is at the “Alexandra Hotel” situated in Fort William town centre with a Scottish Breakfast (Sun & Mon) and three course dinner, (Sun only). Other meals are taken on the train and included in the meal service on board is bucks fizz with breakfast, champagne and quarter bottle of house wine served with 3 or 4 course lunches or dinners. Seating on ‘The Jacobite’ is in Standard Class.

Premier Class:
Accommodation is at the “Alexandra Hotel” in Fort William. Scottish Breakfast (Sun & Mon) and three course dinner (Sun only) is included, with other meals taken on the train.

First Class:
Accommodation is at the “Ben Nevis Hotel” just outside Fort William with transfers included. Breakfast (Sun & Mon) and three course dinner (Sat & Sun) is served in the hotel restaurant. A Buffet Bar is available on the train for the sale of drinks, sandwiches and light snacks.

On Train Meals: (Premier and Pullman only)
Saturday: Full English breakfast, Luncheon and three course Dinner.
Monday: Four course ‘Taste of Scotland’ Luncheon and Afternoon Tea.

Luggage:
Guests are responsible for the conveyance of their own luggage between the train, transfer coaches and hotels and as such it is advisable not to ‘overload’ one and to ensure cases are easily manageable. These should be stored between the seats or on luggage racks.

Insurance:
We strongly advise that you have travel insurance when booking any UK holiday, for your own protection and peace of mind, in case you have to unexpectedly cancel your booking within the 40 day prior to departure non refundable period. We are regrettably unable to arrange this for you.

Mobility:
This tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with severe mobility issues as the platforms at some remote stations in Scotland are much shorter than our train, low or accessible only by a footbridge or steps.

A limited number of single rooms are available at a supplement of £70 per person in the ‘Alexandra’ & ‘Ben Nevis’ Hotels only.

Guaranteed window tables for 2 (Statesman train only) are available at a supplement of £50 per person in 1st class, Premier Dining & Pullman Dining.

A non refundable deposit of £50 per person will secure your booking with the balance of payment due 40 days prior to the tour

Premier and Pullman Dining is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.
