Voted Top Railway Journey in the World.We are delighted to present a three day tour to the Highlands of Scotland at this most beautiful time of year with the Autumnal colours on full display – Travel will be on board the celebrated ‘Statesman’ diesel hauled train over the world famous award winning West Highland line, featuring some of the most dramatic and spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer with magnificent waterfalls, rippling burns & peaceful lochs - A memorable return journey to Mallaig on the steam hauled ‘Jacobite’ train is included and accommodation for two nights will be at quality 3 star hotels in the Fort William and Glencoe area.

Friday:
Our train travels north with views of the Lakeland Fells before continuing through the Scottish Lowlands and towards Glasgow taking the route around the north of the city and along the banks of the Clyde. At Craigendoran we join the West Highland line to climb high into the mountains passing Loch Long and Loch Lomond to Crianlarich where road coaches will take us on the 45 minute journey along Glen Orchy and over dramatic Rannoch Moor and through the majestic splendour of Glencoe to our hotels with an arrival around 19.00.

Saturday:
At Fort William station step back in time as we board the vintage standard class carriages of the steam hauled ‘Jacobite’ train (with seating at shared tables) for a magnificent 84 mile round trip to Mallaig. Passing the foot of Ben Nevis and along the shoreline of Loch Eil we climb into the high mountains and at Glenfinnan cross the viaduct featured in the Harry Potter movies offering magnificent views down Loch Shiel. Passing the white sands of Morar with the mystical Isle of Skye in the distance we arrive into Mallaig - numerous eateries are available offering the famous local fish n’ chips and there is plenty to see and do in the couple of hours before the return journey.

Sunday:
We depart from Fort William around 09.15 for the journey along the full length of the West Highland line, travelling firstly up the Great Glen and through Monessie Gorge with the climb to Corrour Summit and a stop at Rannoch where the views are truly spectacular and herds of wild deer roam - then homeward with one magnificent sight following another including Loch Tulla, the Horseshoe Curve, County March Summit and Loch Long.

Pullman Class: FULLY BOOKED
Accommodation is at either the “Alexandra Hotel” situated in Fort William town centre or “Ballachulish Hotel” on a beautiful loch side setting at the foot of dramatic Glencoe. Dinner on Friday evening, Scottish Breakfast (Sat & Sun) and champagne reception followed by a four course dinner with wine on Saturday are included. Other meals are taken on the train and with the service on board is bucks fizz with breakfast, champagne and quarter bottle of house wine served with Luncheon.

Premier Class: FULLY BOOKED
Accommodation is at either the “Alexandra Hotel” situated in Fort William town centre or “Ballachulish Hotel” on a beautiful loch side setting at the foot of dramatic Glencoe. Dinner on Friday evening, Scottish Breakfast (Sat & Sun) and champagne reception followed by a four course dinner with wine on Saturday are included, with other meals taken on the train.

First Class: FULLY BOOKED
Accommodation is at the “Isles of Glencoe Hotel” situated on a beautiful loch side setting at the foot of dramatic Glencoe. Dinner on Friday & Saturday with Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday is included and served in the hotel restaurant. A Buffet Bar is available on the train for the sale of drinks, sandwiches and light snacks.

On Train Meals: (Premier and Pullman only)
Friday: Full English breakfast and four course Luncheon.
Sunday: Four course ‘Taste of Scotland’ Luncheon and Afternoon Tea.

Transfers:
All road coach transfers, where required, are included.

Luggage:
Guests are responsible for the conveyance of their own luggage between the train, transfer coaches and hotels and as such it is advisable not to ‘overload’ one and to ensure cases are easily manageable. These should be stored between the seats or on luggage racks.

Insurance:
We strongly advise that you have travel insurance when booking any UK holiday, for your own protection and peace of mind, in case you have to unexpectedly cancel your booking within the 40 day prior to departure non refundable period. We are regrettably unable to arrange this for you.

Mobility:
This tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with severe mobility issues as the platforms at some remote stations in Scotland are much shorter than our train, low or accessible only by a footbridge or steps.

A non refundable deposit of £50 per person will secure your booking with the balance of payment due 40 days prior to the tour

Premier and Pullman Dining is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.
